ACM Marks AAPI Month at Upper Dublin Library

UPPER DUBLIN, PA – MAY 20, 2023 – The American Chinese Museum (ACM), renowned for its inspiring exhibits and educational programs, celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month today at the Upper Dublin Library.

The special event saw the ACM set up a booth at the library, alongside several other community organizations, promoting cultural diversity and historical understanding. The celebrations, organized in collaboration with Upper Dublin Library, were part of a larger effort to educate, enlighten, and appreciate the rich tapestry that AAPI individuals weave into the fabric of American society.

The museum’s booth display features an overview of Chinese history in Pennsylvania, a timeline of Chinese food in the US with a glimpse iconic fortune cookie, also the first Chinese American woman Anna May Wong in the US coin, and Pearl Buck, the Nobel Prize novelist, her novel “The Good Earth,” and the early life in China.

The AAPI Heritage Month celebrations are slated to continue throughout May, with various programs, events, and activities designed to honor and celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.
